Ricardo Unveils Next Step in Automotive Safety
VAN BUREN TWP., Mich., Dec. 11, 2006 -- Delegates at Berlin's 5th International Car Training Institute (CTI) Symposium, "Innovative Automotive Transmissions," were given the opportunity to be the first to experience Ricardo's new Cross-Axle Torque Vectoring(TM) demonstrator.
Based on an Audi A6 4.2l V8 Quattro Avant, the vehicle is fitted with the latest generation of Ricardo's Torque Vectoring technology that enables moment-by-moment redistribution of drive-torque in response to driver demand, vehicle speed and road conditions. In doing so, it enables the vehicle to follow the driver's intended path, ultimately leading to a potentially safer, more enjoyable driving experience.
The design of the Torque Vectoring unit is highly compact and can be contained with very limited intrusion into an existing differential packaging envelope.

2005 BMW 3 Series E90 SE from UK and Ireland
I do not find the new 3 (e90) to be ugly at all. Some of you folks just need to get with the times. When the new 5 came out I thought it was ugly too, but over the years it has grown on me and now I rather see it as a work of art, really. When the 5 series came out it was ahead of it's time.
And just look at Benz and Lexus/Toyota now copying the Bangle-Butt.
The new 3-series is modern looking and can you really fault BMW with making it somewhat bland than radical looking?

Yes, sad to say, but the Bangle butt has now become an automotive trend. Who'dve thunk it?
But I still think the 5 series is hideously ugly. One magazine compared its front to the face of Dame Edna and I agree.
Dodge Dart GTS Muscle Car Junior
Mention the words “muscle car" to most enthusiasts and they conjure visions of Tri-Power GTOs, Hemi Road Runners and 454 Chevelles. True, the big block pavement pounders did make up the majority of the market, but they were also the favorite targets of insurance companies. If the engine exceeded 400 cubic inches, it was a sure bet a hefty surcharge was added to the premium. Many an under 21 consumer was faced with insurance premiums that outstripped the monthly payments. Uncontrollable insurance payments in the late 1960s were one of the contributing causes of why the muscle car market literally imploded in less than two years.
There were however, alternatives to the mega cube monsters that provided more than adequate performance and cost considerably less. These were compacts with smaller, high performance engines that remained under the insurance company's radar screens.

Not all Christmas stories uplifting, heartwarming
The best Christmas stories are uplifting and heartwarming. Unfortunately, others are painful and heart wrenching. People often ask you to recall your most memorable Christmas. More than 25 years ago, I experienced the Christmas I never want to remember and the one I will never forget.Christmas Eve at my house was usually a festive gathering of friends and family. Soon-to-be opened presents were stacked under the tree, stockings hung neatly in a row on the mantle and a spread of food fit for the royal family bogged down the big oak dining room table. But that was not the case on this night before Christmas so many seasons ago. Instead of the most wonderful time of the year, it was silent night. The usual buzz and energy of my boisterous family was hauntingly subdued. There was no laughter. There was nothing to laugh about.Upstairs, my dad lay in his bed dying of cancer.
December is packed with dozens of ways to get in the spirit of the ...
Yes, the serious side is there. That ranges from a "living nativity scene" to Handel's "Messiah" and other religious classics. On Dec. 10, two church choirs will combine for John Rutter's epic "Magnificat."
But the season also catches all the other moods. It includes:
• Comedy. Try the hilarious "Every Christmas Story Ever Told." Or try the "Christmas Vacation" movie, the "Christmas Story" play, "Reindeer Monologues" and more.
• Music stars. Local Christmas concerts include Bid Bad Voodoo Daddy, Deana Carter, Kenny Loggins and Steve Azar; the Detroit area has Big & Rich, Clay Aiken, Peabo Bryson and Jim Brickman.
• Musical range. There's a jazzy variation of the "Nutcracker" music. There are folk singers. There are holiday pops concerts, including a big-scale one from the Lansing Symphony.

18 new cars in 2007 pit stop, awaiting launch
MUMBAI: Year 2007 will definitely bring with it more traffic jams, for 18 new cars are expected to be launched during the next 12 months, starting January.
Among the brand new passenger cars expected to roll out, the most awaited is the Mahindra Renault Logan, which is likely to hit the road by April. Experts believe the entry level C-segment notchback would shake up the category with a fiercely competitive price tag of Rs 4.5-5 lakh.

Expanding the small car category further, Hyundai Motors is working on a hatchback — code-named Pa ” positioned between Santro and Getz and aimed squarely at the new Zen Estilo.
