It is not known if the muscle car will be converted to right-hand drive and whether issues such as emissions and volume may yet scupper plans. The car has yet to be shown in Europe and will not hit showrooms in America until 2009.

Spy Shots: 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT-8

Brenda Priddy and her lens-wielding henchmen caught a brief, yet undisguised glimpse of the revised Magnum SRT-8, expected to debut next month at the Detroit auto show.The changes are striking, with the Magnum's front-clip taking the brunt of the alterations, beginning with a set of rectangular headlamps whose downsized line reduces the opening of the grill. A modified front bumper sports a set of chrome strips, while the hood looks like its been pulled straight from the Charger, donning a sizeable powerbulge and scoop. Although shots of the rear weren't available, the shooters claim that the taillights also benefit from a few tweaks.Under the hood, Dodge decided to stay with the 6.1-liter HEMI powerplant, mated to a five-speed manumatic that's had a software overhaul to produce smoother, quicker shifts.A revised interior is also in the cards, but we'll all have to wait until its official appearance in Motor City next month for all the changes.[Source: Zerin at Dubspeed Driven] .

A 2004 Dodge Dakota valued at $16,000 was reported stolen sometime after 3:15 a.m. Monday from outside a home in the 2900 block of Gillsville Highway.

Assorted jewelry, total value $3,000, was reported stolen sometime before 5 p.m. Dec. 9 from a residence in the 3100 block of Broome Road.

Compact discs valued at $450 were reported stolen between midnight and noon Sunday from a residence in the 3600 block of Browns Bridge Road.

A 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse valued at $1,000 was reported stolen between Dec. 12 and Friday from outside a convenience store in the 7399 block of Ga. 365.

A pressure washer and leaf blower, total value $1,000, were reported stolen sometime between 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday from a residence in the 5500 block of Poplar Place.

A home computer and a chain saw, total value $399, were reported stolen between 7 a.m.

General Assembly, considering Sixth Committee reports, adopts text ...

By one of more than 15 resolutions and decisions adopted today as it took up the reports of its Sixth Committee (Legal), the General Assembly decided to establish an Ad Hoc Committee to consider criminal accountability of United Nations officials and experts on mission.

In a day-long meeting, the Assembly also adopted resolutions on matters ranging from diamonds that fuel conflict, to cooperative arrangements between the United Nations and regional and other organizations, the culture of peace, return or restitution of cultural property and HIV/AIDS. All but one of those actions took place without a vote.

As it took action on the reports of the Sixth Committee, the Assembly authorized the Ad Hoc Committee to meet from 9 to 13 April 2007 to examine the legal aspects of a report by a five-member Group of Experts appointed by the Secretary-General to provide advice on how best to ensure, in accordance with due process, that United Nations staff and experts on mission would neither be effectively exempt from the consequences of their criminal acts, nor unjustly penalized.

Developer pours energy, creativity into Lynchburg
