Police are investigating a fatal crash on the M4 at Eastern Creek, which has forced the partial closure of the road city-bound. Car thieves strike in Narre Warren

A $50,000 Ford station wagon was stolen from a Langbourne Drive driveway last Friday, only minutes after the owner had parked the car and entered her house. The second vehicle, a red 1993 Ford Falcon worth $3500, was stolen from the Casey Central Shopping Centre car park last Wednesday.

Police found the vehicle burned out later that day in Wedgewood Road in Hallam.

The third car was stolen on Saturday night from the Fountain Gate Shopping Centre top level car park near the Village Cinemas.

Police said the maroon Toyota Land Cruiser, worth $28,000, was taken between 8pm and 11.45pm.

Police said it was rare for two cars valued at over $20,000 to be stolen within a few days.

A lot of the more expensive cars now have very good security systems so they dont get targeted as much, Sen Sgt Wilcox said.

Johnson Beam-ing at Queensland.

Steve Johnson hit the ground running during testing at Queensland Raceway, posting the fastest lap of the day in his new #17 Jim Beam Dick Johnson Racing Ford Falcon.

The team has been working around the clock to get the new Ford race-ready and, having posted a fastest lap of 1min 11.84secs, is confident their efforts are paying off.

"Everyone at DJR has been working hard throughout the off-season, so we're all feeling good that our 2007 package is showing promise straight out of the box," a noticeably slimmer Johnson said, "I've been working harder than ever to make sure I'm fighting fit for the season, and I was itching to get back behind the wheel. We still have plenty to improve, but the car felt good - definitely an improvement on 2006, and hopefully a sign of things to come."

Toyota Aurion TRD 3.5 V6 Supercharged & Hilux TRD 4.0 V6 Supercharged

Toyota Australia is planning to unveil the Aurion TRD along with the Hilux TRD at the Melbourne International Motor Show on 2 March. Starting off with the Aurion TRD, this is the production version of the Aurion Sports Concept shown at the Australian International Motor Show in October 2006.Under the hood, the Aurion TRD hides a supercharged 3.5-litre V6 that drives the… front wheels. Personally I'd find that a good enough reason to go for a rear wheel-drive Ford Falcon or a Holden Commodore, but hey; that's just me. As for the Hilux TRD, according to Toyota, the top-spec Hilux will be equipped with a supercharged 4.0-litre V6. Read Article .

Reed Rejoices In Pcr Street Stock Battle

Holden Commodore driver Brian Reed celebrated his maiden victory of the 2006/07 season when he claimed the feature race honours at Parramatta City Raceway (PCR) on Saturday night (February 17) during the latest round of the Sydney Street Stock club championship and it wasn't without a pinch of controversy when Glenn Mitchell (Ford Falcon) was disqualified for a driving infringement after greeting the chequered flag in first place. During the middle stages of the 20-lap feature race Mitchell and Richard Elliot (Holden Commodore) were battling for fourth place and that was when Mitchell made contact with Elliot entering turn one and it resulted in Elliot spinning onto the infield and soon after retiring to the pit enclosure. Mitchell was able to continue on and managed to chase down leader Shane Carlson in the closing laps of the race and take victory, but his victory spoils were short-lived when race officials banished him to the rear of the field for his part in the Elliot spin.
