Ford Mustang concept billboard, sadly impossible
People have been talking about this on adlist, and I've received a bunch of mails containing the images of Ian Cart's ford Mustang concept billboards, a few mails incorrectly stating that these ads were real and running right now because that's what they read on some random adblog out there. Not the case. (posts that don't state it's a concept only: #1, #2, #3) On Ian's concept page he writes "Constructed from GE Lexan semi-transparent resin, the billboard accurately blurs the scene behind it regardless of day , weather or season" This seems like a great idea at first glance, but you know it's impossible....(more inside)
Does anyone wanna break to Ian Hart that regular old billboards can't look that way? Since they're stabilized on the back and/or have another billboard there.
Possible witness to fatal crash sought
Investigators are searching for the driver of a second car who might have witnessed a single-car crash Sunday night in the Robla area that left two teenagers dead and three others injured.
Witnesses described the second car as a 1990-era white Ford Thunderbird with gray primer on the left front bumper.
A 2000 Ford Mustang westbound on Main Avenue struck a pole near Kelton Way about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Collectibles: Story of the year may be at Maisto
If last week's crop of upcoming new models didn't spark your hobby habit, check out this group of automotive collectibles for the new year.
Franklin Mint has a blue 2007 Mustang GT500 coming out that will be the only 1:24 scale model that I know of this car. They've also got a Guardsman Blue 1964 Ford Mustang convertible that's trimmed out with most of the options available on the real car that year.
Jeep fans will find the new Renegade CJ-7 to be a treat, with features such as a front windshield that tilts forward, removable doors and a roof that lifts off. And there's a very nice rose-colored (Sunset Coral) 1956 Thunderbird that sports a brown and white interior and hood and doors that open.
Meanwhile, the real story of the year may be unfolding at Maisto, maker of well-detailed, modestly priced models.
Schumacher leads Top Fuel qualifying
CHANDLER, Ariz. - Four-time Top Fuel champion Tony Schumacher raced to his 37th career No. 1 qualifying position Saturday, running a quarter-mile in a track-record 4.430 seconds - the fourth quickest run in NHRA history.
Robert Hight and Jason Line also earned No. 1 qualifying honors in the Checker Schuck's Kragen NHRA Nationals at Firebird International Raceway.
Saturday's drama came in the form of last-ditch qualifying efforts by John Force and Doug Kalitta. With their class-leading qualifying streaks hanging in the balance, both drivers managed to make the starting lineups during the final session. Force powered his Ford Mustang to a 4.818 in Funny Car, and Kalitta posted a 4.547 in his Top Fuel dragster. Force has qualified for 394 consecutive events, while Kalitta has reached 162 straight race days.
