Queensland captain Jimmy Maher has blasted national coach John Buchanan after Shane Watson, Mitchell Johnson and Brad Hodge were ordered to miss Sunday's Ford Ranger Cup final at the MCG.
Cricket Australia has insisted the players be rested in the lead-up to the World Cup, which begins in the Caribbean in March.
Maher called the decision 'outrageous' and a 'disgrace' and said it showed disrespect to the one-day competition and domestic cricket in general.
He went on to accuse Buchanan, a former coach of the Queensland side, of double standards.

Australia rests top players ahead of World Cup
Melbourne, Feb 21 The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) is not taking any chances on further injuries to its squad ahead of the World Cup and has asked some of its players to skip the Ford Ranger Cup Final on Sunday. Matthew Hayden, Shane Watson, Mitchell Johnson and Brad Hodge will not play in Ford Ranger Cup Final between Victoria and Queensland at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Andrew Hilditch, chairman of the national selection panel, announced.
