Custom 1993 Ford Ranger - Sheer Effort
After picking up an issue of Mini Truckin' magazine for the very first time, readers fall into one of two categories. The first is the "Why would anyone do that to their truck?" category. The second - obviously better - category is the "I need to do that to my truck!" group. Bill Shear from New Phila, Ohio, began to casually read Mini Truckin' and attend local truck shows a few years back. From the looks of his truck today, he definitely fell into the second category and learned a little something along the way. Bill began things by purchasing a '93 Ford Ranger in August 1995. With some high aspirations from the very beginning, he knew it wouldn't take long before he was draggin' rocker down the highway.
After driving the stock truck around for a while and planning out his project so he wouldn't make too many costly mistakes, Bill decided to get down to business.
Anna Nicole saga stirs Bahamas media frenzy
Across the street from the luxury waterfront home where Anna Nicole Smith lived, Fox network cameramen stake out an empty lot waiting for the white gates to swing open.
Around the corner, freelance photographer Richard Hokemeir keeps watch from the top of a stepladder perched in the flatbed of his conspicuously parked Ford Ranger pickup.
And in beachfront hotels, a frenzied gaggle of U.S. journalists has transformed suites into makeshift newsrooms as producers and writers run down the newest plot-twisting lead in the Smith saga and map out their next move.
''The competition? We are sick about it,'' John Marquis, managing editor of The Nassau Tribune, said with a slight grin.
The Tribune, in fact, crushed the competition and made worldwide headlines last week when it published a bombshell: a photo of a fully clothed Smith and former Bahamian Immigration Minister Shane Gibson in a close embrace on her bed.
Custom 1994 Ford Ranger Splash - Mighway
If we only had more teachers like Rick "Teach" Piomack of Eastpointe, MI. The ways of the mini-trucker could be taught to kids from a young age and Power Wheels would be dragging like mad. Rick's example of choice is his body-dropped '94 Ford Ranger Splash.
Growing up in the Michigan automotive scene, as well as his car seat being situated in the back of his dad's '57 Pontiac Chieftain, gave him an early love for customs. Being in college with his Ranger and not rolling in the dough, the simplest of simple would have to do: static drop, baby. That is, until he graduated.
After graduation and being the newest teacher in the Detroit area, the money situation was finally falling into place. Rick found himself at the Pontiac dealership looking to buy a brand new GTT Grand Prix. With the Ranger keys in hand, ready to pass on, Rick started getting second thoughts.
