| Gas prices continue to climb and will likely move higher
DAYTON — Karrieann Chase didn't fill up the tank of her Honda Pilot when she stopped for gas in East Dayton on Wednesday. The $2.35 per gallon price, a spike of more than 37 cents over average prices Dayton-area motorists paid a month ago, stopped her mid-tank. "I'm tired of the seesaw (in gas prices), especially because it's so drastic," Chase, a Jefferson Twp. resident, said. "I don't fill up every time because I'm hoping prices will go down."
SUV-car-bus crash closes Route 42
Police say the driver of an SUV pulled out of Thompsonville Road in front of a bus and a car on Route 42 today, causing a three-vehicle crash that shut down the state road. The drivers' names weren't available. The driver of the SUV was taken by Mobilemedic ambulance to Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris for possible broken ribs. The other injuries were minor. Fallsburg police Chief Angel Lamboy said that about 7:30 a.m., the car was heading north on 42 and a Gershowitz Transportation bus, empty except for the driver, was heading south when the Honda Pilot pulled onto 42 from Thompsonville Road without yielding the right-of-way. Lamboy said the car hit the Pilot, and then the bus did. "It was a miracle nobody got killed," Lamboy said. All the drivers were wearing seat belts.
Honda, BMW Tops Most Requested at LeaseCompare.com
Several Honda and BMW models have been requested most at Automobile Consumer Services' Web site, LeaseCompare.com, company officials explained on Thursday.
Honda and BMW combined to have nine of the 20 units listed as top new- and used-vehicle lease requests, LeaseCompare.com's report disclosed.
For used cars, the top three lease inquiries were for the Porsche 911, the BMW M3 and the Chevrolet Corvette, company officials noted. For new-car lease requests, the top three ranked were the Chevrolet Corvette, the Toyota Camry and the Audi A4.
All of Honda's listed vehicles were for new-car leases, including the Accord, Civic, Odyssey and Pilot, company officials mentioned. BMW had four vehicles on LeaseCompare.com's top used-vehicle lease request list.

Honda plant confirmed in Alabama
Honda subsidiary Yutaka Technologies began construction on a transmission component factory in Cullman, Alabama in January. The plant will employ about 200 people and is part of a larger strategy to build several component-supplier factories to feed Honda's US manufacturing plants. There's new facilities going up in Georgia and Ohio in addition to the Alabama plant. The Cullman plant will start supplying torque converters and exhaust components to Honda's Lincoln, Alabama assembly plant in November. The Lincoln plant builds the Odyssey minivan and Pilot SUV, and Honda is shifting more Pilot production to the Alabama plant from its Ontario facility. While many think of Honda as a foreign brand, their cars are often no more foreign than the domestics. Building US-market cars in this country has been a winning proposition for Honda and the other foreign marques that have opened facilities here.
