Jazz VTEC media challenge awards night held

This season's six official 1.5-liter Honda Jazz VTECs were courtesy of Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. Petron Xtra Unleaded provided the "Power for extra miles" needed in the competition. Car modifications were courtesy of Bravura, while the car stickers were by Aitech. The timing device, scoring system and website were powered by Igertech. Other sponsors include AVT-Intelligent Car Multimedia, Airborne Access, Pagcor Sports, Bosch, and Motolite.

In Accord with Honda standards

It is one thing to give a car a facelift, but it is a whole lot more difficult to make it look better than its predecessor and to get buyers to pay more for the replacement model.

Being a focused premium sedan, the Honda Accord's going has been easy. With great brand image and reliability built into its bodywork, this premium sedan managed to outsell the competition in the segment, despite its relatively higher pricing.

The seventh generation Honda Accord is probably in the middle of a full-blown model makeover and before the eighth is rolled out globally during the next couple of years, a facelift to the current model is a simple way of ensuring that the Accord's appeal is maintained.

Of course, a facelift is a regular model-year change that cars are put through in big auto markets such as the US.

Dashboard display magnifies old age

D ear Tom and Ray | I love my 2005 Honda CR-V, except for the dashboard. The numbers on the radio, the digital clock and the odometer - especially at night - are way too small and dark for me to see clearly. Squinting doesn't help, and neither do bifocals. My friend has a Honda Accord, and I can see his dashboard just fine. Bright numbers, large enough to see. That was what Honda should have done in my car. Is it possible to get a great dashboard panel, like the Accord's, put into my CR-V? - Shay
