Eli Lilly and Co. has introduced a unique insulin pen that could prevent some punctures. The Indianapolis drug maker's Memoir pen, the first on the market with a memory device, is for use with its top-selling insulin, Humalog.

The battery-operated pen, called the "Lexus'' of insulin pens by one doctor, uses a computer chip to remember the last 16 insulin doses delivered.

Lilly says Memoir could reduce hassles for some of the 21 million Americans who live with diabetes, but others question whether it will catch on.

Paris Rétromobile 2007

For 10 days or so in February every year, 27,000 sq mts of exhibition space in south west Paris is transformed into a Mecca for classic motoring enthusiasts. Returning after a two-year break, I thought it was one of the best yet, and on an opening day when pretty one anyone who was anyone in the collectors� car industry was present, it soon became apparent that Paris R�tromobile cannot afford to be missed.

As ever, the exhibition had several �themes�, some set by the inevitable French motor industry presence, and some by the organisers who�d made a special central display showcasing the cars - and drum kit - of well-known collector and racer Nick Mason. On the stand were one of his pre-War �LM� Aston Martin Ulsters, a 1970 Ferrari 512S, the immortal Ferrari 250 GTO, a Le Mans Porsche 962, a McLaren F1 GTR (that I last saw outside Alfred Dunhill�s flagship store in London) and other cars, too many to mention, that make up the Ten Tenths fleet.

RUMOR: NSX development halted, Acura going back to drawing board

We (and many of you) were blown away by Acura's Advanced Sports Car Concept when it was unveiled at NAIAS in January. Though we were a bit disappointed the concept was only a non-running turntable tease, Honda assured everyone that an improved, closer-to-production show car was in the works for the October Tokyo show.Winding Road says its sources have heard the contrary, that Honda is going back to the high-performance drawing board to come up with a more super supercar. Word is the ASC just isn't impressing as many people as it needs to be. Perhaps Honda management saw the ASC wasn't its company's best effort, and instead of dumping the project entirely (like Chrysler did with the ME Four-Twelve or Ford with the GR-1), it's committing the resources needed to create something truly special in the $100,000+ sport coupe segment.
