SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The sporty sedan is a motor vehicle segment drenched in Americana, and you have to chuckle at the way it is routinely marketed to the populace. The sport-sedan premise supports the theory that Dad and Mom might have other plans for the family car after dropping the kids off at school ... say, seeing how quickly they can rip it from zero to 60 miles per hour on a deserted stretch of road outside of town. Do normally sedate citizens do this type of thing? One can only imagine. But supposing they do. What kind of car might they want to fulfill their road-warrior fantasies? A 2007 Mitsubishi Galant Ralliart sedan would do the trick. The Ralliart was added to the Galant lineup for the current model year.
Attempted bank robbery suspect caught on camera
Bossier City Police are asking the public to help them identify and locate a suspect who attempted to rob the Chase Bank branch in the 4300 block of Barksdale Boulevard on Saturday, February 17, 2007. The suspect walked into the bank at approximately 11 a.m. and presented a teller with a note demanding money. The suspect did not produce a weapon however the teller told police the suspect appeared to attempt to pull an object out from his pants pocket that the teller feared was a gun.The suspect then left the bank without any money and got into an awaiting gray 4-door Mitsubishi Galant with an unknown person at the wheel and rode away.The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens or early twenties, about 5’06" and 140 pounds. He is seen on surveillance camera photos wearing a white knit beanie and a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head.
Wheels theft a low blow
A Marton family whose teenage son died of leukemia late last month has been dealt another blow. Just two days after James Murray's funeral on January 26, the mag wheels and stereo were stolen from James' car, which was parked outside the family home in Grey Street. Detective Constable Felicity Mansell said the theft was ``the lowest of low''. ``Even criminals will be pretty disgusted with this theft.'' Det/Const Mansell said the car, a grey Mitsubishi Galant, was left sitting on its axles. The theft is believed to have occurred between midnight Sunday, January 28 and 5am, Monday, January 29. ``It would be really nice to get the wheels and the stereo back for James' family and to find out who did it,'' she said. She says anyone who knows anything about the theft or who has been offered cheap wheels or a stereo should contact her at the Marton police station.

MANCHESTER � A Brick woman's car hit another vehicle yesterday while making a left turn, police reported. Stacey Ludwig, 20, was driving a Mitsubishi Galant around 4:15 p.m. yesterday when she turned left off Commonwealth Boulevard onto Middlesex Street, police said. While making the turn, police said she hit a vehicle stopped at the intersection. The occupant of the vehicle Ludwig struck, Michelle Cannizzaro, 24, of Toms River, complained of a minor head injury and was taken by Manchester First Aid to Community Medical Center in Toms River. Ludwig did not report any injuries, police said. Police issued Ludwig a summons for careless driving and both vehicles were towed. The investigating officer was Ian Bowel. Injured driver recuperating STAFFORD � A Tuckerton man was in "satisfactory" condition yesterday, after flipping his car over Sunday, police reported.
Bossier City Police Capture Bank Robbery Suspect
Monday afternoon detectives with the Bossier City Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit arrested a man they say tried to rob a bank on Saturday morning.
Twenty-five-year-old Michael Barber of the 6000 block of Whitney Drive in Bossier City was charged with attempted first degree robbery. Police also arrested 18-year-old Meyoka McGee of Shreveport on a charge of attempted first degree robbery. Police believe she was the driver of the getaway car that Barber left the bank in.
Police say on Saturday around 11:00 AM Barber walked into the Chase Bank branch in the 4300 block of Barksdale Boulevard. He gave a teller a note demanding money. Police say Barber never showed the teller a weapon, but at one point the teller said Barber attempted to pull something out of his pocket the teller feared was a gun.
