| Peugeot hosts Geneva premieres
The Geneva International Motor Show is always an important event for Peugeot and this year the brand will be revealing no less than three new body styles of the 207 range, along with its new sport utility vehicle (SUV) - the 4007. Each one demonstrates Peugeot's plan to extend the appeal of its products with a full choice of stylish vehicles (CC, GTi, SW and SUV).
11 INJURED IN DUAL CARRIAGEWAY SMASH
A TEENAGER is fighting for his life after a horrifying pile-up on Dorset Way late on Friday night, which injured 10 other people. A Peugeot 306 carrying six youths was in collision with the back of a red Kia 4x4 carrying a local family of five just before midnight. The incident happened on the westbound side of the A3049 dual carriageway, about half a mile west of the Oakdale junction prior to the Fleetsbridge turn-off.
Prices for new Peugeot 206 coupe cabrio
The new Peugeot [Peugeot quotes] 206 coupe cabriolet will be available to buy in March with two petrol engines, a diesel model and two trim levels � Sport and GT. Engines have been sourced partly from BMW and constitute the 1.6-litre 120bhp petrol; 1.6-litre 150bhp THP petrol turbo-charged engine; and leading 1.6 litre HDi 110bhp diesel engine with a diesel particulate emission filter. The 1.6-litre petrol boasts a fuel consumption figure of 43.5 mpg, and reduces fuel consumption and emissions by 8% and 7% respectively, through a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic gearbox with �Porsche Tiptronic� sequential manual selection. The 1.6-litre THP offers maximum torque at 180 lb ft from an engine speed of 1400 rpm and maximum power of 150 bhp at 5800 rpm.
Designers Aim to PLEASE Peugeot
The 'Flux' concept by Mihai Panaitescu, a Romanian design student studying in Turin, has been announced as the winning project in the fourth Peugeot Design Contest. The runners up in second and third places were 'Njooy' (Wesley Saikawa from Brazil), and 'Allscape' (Gustavo Ferrero from Venezuela). At 20 years old, Mihai is the youngest ever winner of the Peugeot Design Contest. Flux is a fun vehicle that suits a variety of lifestyles and is at home in an urban environment. The sophisticated engine ensures a quiet driving experience, while the Flux stands out without being ostentatious. Mounted on large wheels, the Flux provides excellent postural comfort for its occupants, wraparound seats with multiple settings, and is ergonomic. The simple design creates a feeling of serenity regardless of the distance to be covered.
Boycott campaigner gets Peugeot
A union convenor who urged a nationwide boycott of Peugeot cars in a bid to save the Ryton production plant has admitted he now drives a new Peugeot. Jim O'Boyle, former Transport and General Workers Union (TGWU) convenor at the Coventry site, denies he is being a hypocrite for driving a 206. The plant closed in January with the loss of 2,300 jobs when production of the 206 moved to Slovakia. Mr Boyle said the vehicle is part of his negotiated redundancy package. He was a principal voice in the union's �1m advertising campaign that called for the boycott of the French company's cars last June.
Peugeot line up IRC challengers
Peugeot Spain is to contest the 2007 Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) with two 207 Super 2000s for Spain's Enrique Garcia Ojeda and reigning French Rally Champion Nicolas Vouilloz.After nominating the Spaniard in November, Peugeot Spain is pleased to announce that his team-mate will be Frenchman Nicolas Vouilloz who has so far driven Peugeots practically throughout his competition career on four wheels.Vouilloz, who will turn 31 in February, claimed no fewer than ten mountain bike downhill world titles before switching to motor sport in 2003. After dominating that year's Volant Peugeot 206, he was nominated as a member of the FFSA's French Junior Team in 2004 and, with backing from Peugeot, was able to compete in selected World Rally Championship rounds with a 206WRC. Last season saw him secure the French national title driving a 307WRC.Enrique Garcia Ojeda has also spent his entire career with Peugeot in Spain.
