Techart to drop 911 Turbo-based GTstreet in Geneva

TechArt, purveyors of of superfast Porsche-based grin machines, are set to rock our world in Geneva with the next iteration of the 911 Turbo-based GTstreet. The last GTstreet appeared in 2001 and was based on the thoroughly capable 996 Turbo. With the new 997 now in the marketplace, the labcoats at TechArt apparently felt the time had come to knock everyone's socks off anew.Power for the hornet-colored missile is a fairly adequate 630 horses coupled with 600+ lb-ft of asphalt-shredding torque. Zero to 62 mph arrives in 3.2 seconds; 124 mph comes a little more than than 7 seconds later, and the car will continue to accelerate until the speedo hits 214 mph. A new aero body kit helps keep it planted to the pavement at the extreme speeds it's capable of.We'll bring you much more on the GTstreet next month from Geneva.

Through The Esses - Ryan Herman s Horsepower Ranch Is Now Open For ...

At the season opening round of the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series, held at Daytona International Speedway on January 26th, there were 104 cars entered in the race. Yes, 104. With that many production-based race cars chasing after a win, it surely takes an extreme level of intensity, and a magnified sense of competitive spirit, to prevail against such incredible odds. The same can be said for anyone who embarks on a journey into the realm of uncertainty that envelopes any new business venture. Risks taken on the track mirror the risks taken to establish and build a business. Granted, erroneous moves on the track can have dire physical consequences whereas an unsound move in business will not normally put a life at risk, but there is no denying that a consequence of failure is a reality in both worlds.

Carrera GT3 Conversion

Following changes to the interior and undercarriage, we finally address the most visible GT3 aspect: aerodynamics. Of all 911 models, the GT3 is the most recognizable. Its ground-effect appendages provide visual cues, but the dead giveaway is the tabletop bi-wing.

Yet, aggressive as it is, the full body package somehow maintains an ideal balance of beauty, form and functionality. Although aftermarket versions of the kit are available, we've used nothing but authentic GT3 aero components from Tequipment, Porsche's factory-engineered range of vehicle accessories. This meant there would be no change in quality and fit. Plus, with the help of McKenna Porsche and its dealer-certified collision repair facility, all items were painted and installed by trained technicians, further ensuring a level of quality Porsche owners come to expect.
